Privacy statement

Using the calculator

The dimensions you enter are sent to our server to calculate the gas springs, and the result is sent back. These calculations are not stored and are not linked to you.

Your last design is kept in your own browser (local storage) so that it is still there when you come back. It is not sent to us. You can remove it by clearing the site data in your browser.

This site uses no cookies and no tracking across sites. To see how many people use the calculator, we count page views with GoatCounter, which runs on our own server. For each page view it records the page, the site you came from, the type of browser and device, the screen size and the country. To tell visits apart it uses a code made from your IP address and browser with a key that changes regularly; the IP address itself is not stored and visits cannot be linked to you. The figures are only used in totals, and nothing is shared with others. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in knowing how the site is used (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

The server does not keep access logs. To protect the service against overload, it counts requests per IP address in its memory for at most one minute.

Who processes data for us

  • Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): hosting of the website and the calculation server, in the EU.

Both act on our instructions under a data processing agreement. Your data stays within the European Union.

Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to receive it in a portable form. E-mail [to be completed]; we answer within one month. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).

Security

All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS) and the server is kept up to date automatically.
