Terms of use

These terms apply to the use of gasspring.org, offered by [to be completed] (KvK [to be completed]). Version of 2026-11-04.

The calculator

• The calculator is free. We may change or stop it at any time.
• Results are indicative. They follow from a physical model with stated assumptions (see the engineering details) and depend on the dimensions you enter. Real gas springs, hinges and lids differ from the model: forces of gas springs typically vary by 5–10 % and change with temperature.
• Always check the selected gas spring and its mounting with the supplier, and test the first lid before series use. Lids and flaps that can fall are a safety risk: you remain responsible for a safe design.

Liability

We prepare the calculator with care, but we cannot guarantee that it is free of errors. We are not liable for damage resulting from the use of the results, except in the case of intent or gross negligence on our part. If you use the calculator as a consumer, this does not limit the rights you have under mandatory law.

Intellectual property

The website, its texts, drawings and the calculation engine are ours. You may use and share the results of your own calculations; you may not copy or reverse-engineer the calculator.

Applicable law

Dutch law applies. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless mandatory consumer law says otherwise.
